The ShotSCOPE diary puts training and competitions into one history: from an event down to a single shot on a target. From your entries the app calculates statistics, grouping, and category compliance.
Events and sessions
An event is a training day or a competition. An event has a name, a date, a discipline, and a weapon. You cannot create an event for a future date.
Sessions live inside an event: each one describes one part of the day. Sessions come in three groups.
- Training: Dry fire, Dry fire with marking, Conditioning.
- Competitive: Control, Competition, Sighting.
- Theoretical: Theory.
The sessions of an event are listed on its card and counted together. An event must have at least one session.
Series, targets, and shots
A series is a group of shots you enter on one target. In a session with targets, you open a target card and mark every shot: the app records its value, its position relative to the center, and the time since the previous shot.
Before you save a session, the Target review opens. For each target it shows the number of shots, the average score, and accuracy. The app deletes targets without marks.
Sighting and scored shots
In a competitive session, targets come in two kinds. The sighting target is labeled Trial, and the scored ones are Scored no. 1, Scored no. 2, and so on. Sighting confirms that the weapon hits where it should and does not count toward the result. The separate Sighting session lets you practice this before the start.
Label on screen
The knowledge base calls these sighting and scored shots; the app shows Trial and Scored.
Statistics and grouping
After entering data, open Session statistics. It contains:
- Session result: total shots, sum, average score, and average grouping;
- Distribution of hits;
- By target: a chart comparing the targets;
- Category compliance: your result against the standard and the gap to the next one.
Grouping shows how tightly your shots landed. MPI (mean point of impact) is the center of the shot group. On a target you can see the distance from a shot to the target center, to the MPI, and to the MPI by grouping.
The general Statistics screen adds up all entries: shots, series, events, weapons, competitions, and conditioning.
Weapons and sight adjustments
Weapons are kept under My weapons: name, serial number, type, and linked exercises. You cannot create an event without a weapon and a linked discipline.
Each weapon has a log of Sight adjustments: X and Y offsets, date, and place. The adjustment you mark as the Zeroing point becomes zero, and the offsets of the others are recalculated. You cannot delete the only adjustment.
Reports
A PDF report for an event or a period is built from your diary entries. Tap Build a report: the finished file stays in the app, and you can send it to your coach by email.
